Accession for SEED and KEGG databases

#1

Hello,

I currently have MEGAN6 UE and we are currently processing our shotgun sequencing data by annotating our sequences to protein databases after running blastx.

I looked inside the m8 file that was outputted and noticed that GI accession numbers weren’t used, as per NCBI’s website which said that they were phased out this month. I checked the MEGAN6 download website and noticed that I can’t use the SEED or KEGG databases to perform the annotations because their mapping files are linked with GIs, which our m8 file doesn’t have.

Will another mapping file be prepared without GIs for the SEED and KEGG database?

Thanks.

I am also interested!

Thanks

#3

do you mean mapping files with accession #s?
I am also in the same boat…

thank you!
